FOR MEDICAL RECORDS STAFF

You got a records request from PatientPreVue.

A patient of yours uses PatientPreVue to keep their health records in one place. They asked your office to send records there and signed an authorization, which is attached to the email.

Sending the records takes three steps

  1. 1

Open the link in the email

Use the Upload records button. You don't need an account or a password.

  2. 2

Enter the code we email you

It goes to the same address and proves the link reached your office. Then you'll see the patient's name and date of birth, so you can match the chart.

  3. 3

Upload the files and press Finish

PDF, Word, photos or text, up to 25 MB each and 50 files (500 MB) in total. Finish closes the link, so nothing more can be added.

What we'll never ask you to do

  • Sign in or create an account to send records
  • Download or open a file
  • Enter your EHR or email password
  • Pay anything

The link only accepts files. It can't be used to view anything. If a page asks for any of the above, close it and call us.

Common questions

Why doesn't the email say which patient?

Email isn't private enough for that. The patient's name is on the signed authorization attached to the email, and on the upload page once you've entered the code.

What happens after I press Finish?

The patient reviews the files before anyone else can see them. If they belong to a different patient, we email your office with the request's reference number and how many files were sent, and the patient can ask again.

The link says it no longer works.

Links close after 30 days, after you press Finish, or when the patient sends a newer one. Use the newest email, or ask the patient to send a new link.

I'd rather fax or mail the records.

Send them to the patient the way you normally would. They can add them to their account themselves.

Still unsure? Call us and we'll check the request with you.
